Combat Systema Instruction

Combat Systema pursues the scientific resolution of physical confrontation. Students develop an understanding of essential movement principles so they can achieve their highest level of personal ability. We cover a broad range of martial skills, where you will learn how to strike and kick, escape from holds, ground fight, throws and takedowns, locks, defense against knife, stick and more. You will improve your physical strength and endurance, rehabilitate injuries, and develop psychological resilience. Each class is physically and mentally demanding with skill development in several areas and testing of skills under pressure to examine learning and functionality. All training exercises are scalable to the student’s ability and the intensity of any exercise is always in the student’s control. At the end of each class, we want every student to possess improved skills that are immediately applicable, as well as have developed a healthier body and mind.

Combat Systema Tampa classes are led by Instructor Matt Stephen under the International Combat Systema Association.  Visitors / walk-ins are welcome, and participation in classes is available on a per-class basis (daily visitor fees), or by membership in the Aikido Chuseikan dojo through a Supporting Membership or Adult Membership.  For more information regarding our Systema classes, please contact us using the following form.
